In the new member of our Elixir d’Anvers family, the Elixir d’Anvers Espresso, we combine the unique spicy flavour of Elixir d’Anvers with the refined aromatic notes of premium coffee beans. The resulting complex flavour is surprising and offers limitless possibilities. 

 

You can enjoy it pure, with or without ice but it can also be the basis of a delicious Espresso Martini, an original tiramisu or a café glacé.

APPEARANCE

Deep dark brown with warm mahogany tones. Slightly syrupy texture that clings beautifully to the glass and gives a soft sheen when swirled.

NOSE

A rich aroma of freshly brewed espresso, surrounded by liquorice, cinnamon and the recognisable spiciness of Elixir d’Anvers. Accents of cocoa, caramel and dried orange peel add extra depth and complexity.

PALATE

Full and creamy with a pronounced coffee intensity. The first sip reveals powerful notes of espresso and dark chocolate, harmoniously interwoven with spicy botanicals. The slight bitterness of the coffee is rounded off by a soft sweetness and a velvety texture. The finish is long and warming, with an elegant balance between bitter, sweet and spicy.

PRODUCTION PROCESS

We distill a selection of the finest coffee beans (Caturra and Maracaturra) and blend it with our traditional Elixir d’Anvers, aged for at least 3 months in old oak barrels, soft water and sugar.

Ingredients

  • 3 cl Elixir d’Anvers Espresso
  • 3 cl Vodka
  • 3 cl Espresso (Coffee Shot)

Preparation

Shake the 3 ingredients with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with 3 coffee beans.

Perfect serve

With “The Biscuit” from Philip’s Biscuits.

ANTWERPSE

KOFFIE

Ingredients

  • 6 cl Elixir d’Anvers Espresso
  • 1 double espresso (6 cl)
  • 6 cl full cream (unsweetened)

Preparation

Make a double espresso, add the warm Elixir d’Anvers Espresso and whip the cream until light and fluffy. Then carefully pour the cream over the coffee using the rounded side of a spoon.

AFFOGATO

ELIXIR D'ANVERS ESPRESSO

Ingredients

  • 4 cl Elixir d’Anvers Espresso
  • scoop of artisanal vanilla ice cream
  • Cookie crumble

Preparation

Spoon one scoop of artisanal vanilla ice cream, pour 4cl of warm Elixir d’Anvers espresso over it, then finish with cookie crumble.
